Where is the best place to watch the Funchal fireworks?
Facing the city. The fireworks go up from points all round the bay, and from the sea you see the whole amphitheatre with no crowds and no traffic. That is why the trip includes the catamaran. On land, Avenida do Mar and the viewpoints fill up early.
How long do the fireworks last?
About eight minutes, starting at midnight. Funchal’s display entered Guinness World Records in 2006.
Is dinner on the 31st included?
No. The trip includes breakfast at the hotel and the catamaran, with bubbly and an open bar. The catamaran leaves at around 11 pm, so there is time for dinner first, and your consultant can suggest where.
