Destinations with a room for five

The price is for the whole family, in the cheapest month and from the cheapest airport. Each page has every month, the hotels with a room for five and the search already set for your family.

How we work out the price for five

We count 2 adults and 3 children aged 4, 8 and 11. On the plane, every child from 2 has a seat and pays for it; under 24 months, a baby can travel on a lap. So the flight goes into the sum five times.

The hotel is one room that sleeps all five, not two doubles. We looked for 3- to 5-star hotels rated 7.5 or more with that room free from Friday to Monday in the middle week of each month, and took the cheapest. City tax is included in the total.

These are prices we saw, not promises. The price for your dates shows up live in the search, and a consultant confirms everything before you book.

Questions

Can children travel on the Irish passport card?

Yes, but under-18s can only get it together with a passport book, and it lasts as long as the book. The card is valid for travel to all EU countries, which covers France, Portugal and Spain.

Do children need their own plane seat?

From the age of 2, yes. Under 24 months, a baby can fly on an adult’s lap with an infant belt, or in an approved child seat fixed to an aircraft seat. With children aged 4, 8 and 11, you pay for five seats.

Can parents sit next to their children without paying extra?

Not yet as a rule. In July 2026 the EU agreed that airlines will have to seat anyone travelling with a child under 14 next to them at no extra cost. But the rule only applies 12 months and 20 days after it is published in the EU Official Journal. In November 2026 it isn’t in force, so for now it depends on the airline.

Why one room rather than two?

Because with young children you usually want one room where everyone sleeps together. If you’d rather have two rooms, the search lets you add a second one and shows the price for your dates.
